That would be head coach Avery Johnson, who was unable to attend the Mavericks short practice today before the team left for Los Angeles. Johnson has been feeling bad for three days and it knocked him for a loop. Even an hour before the Mavericks were to depart to the airport, Johnson was bedridden in his office.
"He's real sick," assistant coach Paul Westphal said. "He's got the flu. He's going to make the trip, but he's feeling pretty bad. He had a 101 temperature in San Antonio and wasn't feeling good last night. It's just kind of caught up to him today."
