Dirk Nowitzki is the playoffs franchise leader in 15 statistical categories, several of which he earned in the Mavs short stint in the playoffs last year. But, he has a few more he can grab in these playoffs, and there are several other Mavs that are closing in on records as well. A look at how close some of them are to moving up the franchise ladder after the jump:
Points
Franchise leader: Dirk Nowitzki, 2,070 points
-Jason Terry has 745 points and needs 251 points to move past Michael Finley into 4th place. If he averaged 15.5 points per game in the playoffs, he would get there during the 17th playoff game this year. The Mavs would have to at least make the Conference Finals for him to get there.
Field goals
Franchise leader: Dirk Nowitzki, 672 FGs
-Jason Terry has 283 field goals and needs 81 to pass Michael Finley into 4th place. If he averages 5.7 field goals per game, he'll get there in the 15th playoff game.
Three pointers
Franchise leader: Michael Finley, 109 3pt
-Dirk Nowitzki has 100 and needs 10 to move into first. If he averages one per game, he'll get there in the 10th game.
-Jason Terry has 67 and needs 13 to move past Steve Nash for third. That could happen in this round and at least by the second round if they get that far.
Free throws
Franchise leader: Dirk Nowitzki, 626 FTs
-Josh Howard has 150 FTs and needs 11 to pass Michael Finley for fourth. We should see that happen in the first two or three games.
Offensive rebounds
Franchise leader: Dirk Nowitzki, 156 ORB
-Josh Howard needs two ORB to pass Sam Perkins for fourth, and needs 12 to pass Roy Tarpley into third. He'll pass Perkins soon, and would likely pass Tarpley if the Mavs make it to the second round.
Blocks
Franchise leader: Dirk Nowitzki, 86
-Erick Dampier needs two to pass Roy Tarpley for fourth and six to pass Shawn Bradley for third. That should happen in this round.
Games
Franchise leader: Dirk Nowitkzi, 82
-Josh Howard has plays 47 playoff games and will pass Mark Aguirre and Rolando Blackman in Game 2 of this series to move into third place. If the Mavs play ten games in these playoffs, he'll pass Michael Finley into second place.
