Avery Johnson sometimes likes to use a bigger defender on smaller point guards. Josh Howard, the Mavs' 6-foot-7 swingman has put in time against Steve Nash and he could go up against his hometown buddy, Hornets point guard Chris Paul. Both players grew up in Winston-Salem, N.C., and both attended their hometown school, Wake Forest.
Howard said he's not sure how the matchups will unfold as the game goes on, but he's prepared to take turn trying to stop the 6-foot dynamo.
"He's always looking to probe and score and find other people to score, so that's always going to be difficult to guard a guy like that because he's going to have the ball in his hands the majority of the time," Howard said. "So you have to stay on your toes."

What about trying Tyronn Lue on him. He was very successful on Allen Iverson in the 2001 NBA Finals. He would follow him all over the court and then get help on traps at key possessions.
