Mavs president Donnie Nelson has been pretty adamant about holding the roster at 14, but there's some Internet rumblings that the Mavs are talking to free agent guard Lindsay Hunter about joining the team and helping out at the point.
Now, the Mavs didn't sign J.J. Barea to a two-year deal worth more than $3 mil to be third-string. Still, Barea hasn't exactly set the world on fire so far this season. But, Nelson and coach Rick Carlisle have continually preached belief in and patience with Barea.
Now, about Hunter, who turns 38 on Dec. 3, one day before I do (please no presents). He's not coming to the Mavs. That's according to a very reliable source -- his agent. In fact, Hunter could be close to latching on with another team.
