One of the reasons that Suns management didn't mind when Mike D'Antoni went to New York was that he was not a defensive-oriented coach. The Suns have put more emphasis on defense this year, but after 18 minutes in the game Thursday night, you've got to wonder if the old way wasn't better.
The Mavericks look sharp tonight and lead 49-28 with 5:28 left in the first half. So it appears that not only are the Suns not playing great defense, but the offense is pretty bad too.
We'll chalk it up to an off-night -- and wait and see if the Mavericks can avoid a fourth-quarter flop.
