Dirk Nowitzki had to leave the game with 10:39 left in the second quarter and have his left wrist and thumb taped by trainer Casey Smith. Nowitzki was in obvious pain when he came to the bench.
Josh Howard has looked excellent tonight. He had 12 points in the first quarter and the Mavericks have a lead at 36-25 early in the second quarter. But Howard is still not 100 percent and it appears that Nowitzki will not be, either.
