Somehow, we're pretty confident that the Mavericks' sellout streak will hit 300 regular season games in a row tonight.
But based on evidence gleaned from the ever-reliable eyeball test, there's no way.
Maybe the hundreds (nay, thousands) of empties will fill in by halftime or so. But right now, there are sections upstairs with fewer than 60 people in them. Each section in the end zone sections has about 110 seats in them.
I know the streak is a marketing bonanza for the Mavericks. But this night is pushing the envelop on what constitutes a sellout. Like I said, maybe the seats are sold and nobody showed up. But it doesn't look or sound like much of a sellout. -Eddie Sefko
