ESPN and the Arizona Republic report there are indications that the Phoenix Suns will keep its core intact and won't be dealing Amare Stoudemire and Shaquille O'Neal before Thursday's NBA trade deadline.
How bad are things in the Valley of the Sun? The Republic notes:
The Suns are 28-23 but have lost 10 of their past 16 games, including seven by double digits and four to losing teams. That made Terry Porter the first Suns coach to get fired during the season with a winning record and the first NBA coach since Cleveland's Paul Silas in 2005.
Other than that, it's always sunny in Phoenix.
All in all, if you could be in the Phoenix area, with the Cardinals (Super Bowl loss, two new coordinators, facing the possible loss of Kurt Warner and Anquan Boldin), the Suns and the Diamondbacks, rather than the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with the Cowboys, the Mavs and the Rangers, would you make that trade?
