With the Mavericks leading 104-76 after three quarters, even the faithful are headed for local watering holes. I mean, a 24 ounce Corona goes for $10.50 here, although a 16 ounce Coors or Bud Light can be had for a mere $6.
Anyway, that's off the point. The mystery is not the profit margin on beer, but rather when Jerry Stackhouse is going to score a basket. Stackhouse returned Friday after missing 44 games and was 0-3 in Houston.
Right now, he's 0-2 but he should get plenty of playing time the rest of the game.
The other mystery is how much will Matt Carroll shoot? He's in the NBA because he is a shooter, but sometimes he seems reluctant, although to be fair, it is difficult to assert yourself on a new team after a midseason trade.
But the Mavericks want him to shoot and frankly, I'd like to see him take about five straight 3's.
Stackhouse hasn't scored a basket since Nov. 14. He's due.
