According to many reports, including the Sacramento Bee which apparently had it first, John Salmons and Brad Miller are headed to Chicago for a collection of cheaper players headlined by Andres Nocioni.
It was last week that Miller sat at American Airlines Center and we chatted about the possibility of him landing in Dallas. He said he was hopeful.
But more than anything, the 7-foot center was eager to leave Sacramento for anywhere, so much so that he canceled a trip he had planned to Hawaii.
He didn't want to be more than an hour away from Sacramento, so he rescheduled the vacation to San Diego.
As it turned out, he could have done the islands.
The interesting thing about the trade is that the Bulls now have a pretty impressive front line with the rapidly improving Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah, who should benefit from Miller's wisdom, if he is a willing learner.
The Mavericks had their eyes on Salmons, but the Kings were never going to accept Jerry Stackhouse for Salmons.
This doesn't mean the Mavericks are dead on the trade front. It's just sends them in other directions. --Eddie Sefko
