Coach Rick Carlisle said this afternoon that Jerry Stackhouse would not be activated for Thursday's game against Boston. Stackhouse had hoped to use that game as a testing ground for his foot injury that has kept him out since mid-November. Instead, the Mavericks will monitor his improvement through the next week and Carlisle said when Stackhouse is comfortable with his conditioning and his health, a decision on when to get him back into action will be made.
"I don't know the timetable,'' Carlisle said. "But he's making progress. I don't know that he's close. But if he comes to me after the break and says he's ready, then we'll be talking.''
