Rick Carlisle talked during TNT's third-quarter intermission interview that the Mavericks needed someone else besides Dirk Nowitzki to step up and do something.
So far, no one's doing it. Josh Howard is out. Jason Kidd's been ineffective. Is anyone going to do anything here?

On the the bench is were Brandon Bass sat in the fourth quarter as Coach played an totally ineffective Devean George. Bass can rebound and score in the paint but in the fourth Coach went away from what worked in the first half and he was out coached by Bostons assistants. Dirk can't do it all and he Coach said as much but then he didn't dance with the ones who brought him. This team can gel into something pretty good, but he needs to find an 8 to 10 man rotation and stick with it. I think a guy who is doing as much alchemy as Carlisle is doing, isn't really coaching he's just throw up prayers each game and hoping they get answers.
