Good news, bad news

First, the bad news.

Andray Blatche, all 6-11, 248 pounds of him, just hit a 3-pointer to put the Wizards ahead by 10 points.

For the season, it was his fifth 3-pointer made in 20 tries.

That's when you know things are not going your way.

The good news, however, is that the Mavericks just started to perk up behind Dirk Nowitzki. He hit a jumper, then fed Brandon Bass for a dunk to cut the margin to 40-34.

Finally, there's a pulse.
