The Mavericks spent part of the weekend in Chicago evaluating talent for the 22nd pick of the draft on June 25.
Well, maybe they were evaluating talent for the 22nd pick.
If you're a betting man, take a chance on them having something other than (or in addition to) the 22nd pick.
Technically, they can't trade the 22nd pick. They have to make the pick, then can trade the pick, if they so desire. That's because they traded their '08 and '10 picks to New Jersey in the Jason Kidd deal.
The guess here is that there's a trade to be had. At least one team from the Eastern Conference is looking to trade their lottery pick. And rest assured they all will be listening to offers.
And we'll listen to yours, if you have great ideas. Don't bring any Josh Howard-for-Chris Bosh deals here. Only legitimate trades that make sense for the other team, as well as the Mavericks.
