The Mavericks are going to pick up another player, apparently.
Nick Calathes, the point guard from Florida who some thought would go in the first round, apparently has been traded to the Mavericks after he was taken by Portland with the 45th pick.
The Mavericks traded back the 56th pick to Portland and added some cash.
The deal cannot be announced until the Mavericks make a pick for the Blazers at 56.
Calathes would be a terrific addition. He's under contract with a Greek team, but he's also got a future in the NBA. Whether or not he's in Greece or with the Mavs, he's a quality asset to stockpile.
