If the rumblings are right, the Houston Rockets could be without Yao Ming next season and maybe longer than that.
If the team doc is saying that the injury to his ankle is severe enough that it could keep him out all of next season and is career threatening, then you know it's at least that bad.
The Houston Chronicle has reported this information and it would be a horrible blow to the Rockets.
But that's the way the NBA is. Nobody feels sorry for you.
Well, they may feel sorry. But it won't keep them from trying to drill you next season, taking full advantage of that 7-6 hole in the middle of your defense.
Life just isn't fair. Without Yao, the Rockets are a good team with no chance of making serious noise for years to come.
There are no bailouts in this league.
