Got a tip from a reader that Rashad McCants has said he's coming to Dallas for a workout. Said it on his Twitter account, supposedly.
I'd look into this, but we all know what the first four letters of Twitter are, which is why I refuse to go there.
But that's the type of role player that the Mavericks never seem to have too many of.
Remember, they probably will carry only 14 players this season. The ones we already know are gone are Jerry Stackhouse, Devean George, Antoine Wright and Brandon Bass.
We also know that Ryan Hollins, Shawne Williams and Gerald Green are likely to move on.
In return, they have picked up Shawn Marion, Marcin Gortat (most likely), Quinton Ross, Kris Humphries, Greg Buckner, Nathan Jawai, Roddy Beaubois and Ahmad Nivins. Buckner will be moved before training camp, meaning the Mavericks have lost seven players off last year's roster and gained seven new players.
That doesn't leave much room for somebody like McCants, who is a pretty fair player, by the way.
