The Mavericks are going to start putting HDNet logos on practice jerseys for players and on coaching-staff apparel worn at at team practices.
This is merely the start of sponsorship agreements weaving their way onto team apparel. Even if the economy continues to perk up, the NBA is going to go to sponsorships on uniforms somewhere down the line.
Maybe not to the extent that soccer does. David Stern knows the influx of bucks overrides the fact that purists will be shocked and offended when Viagra is the sponsor of the LA Clippers.
Not that we have any inside information that the Clips need Viagra. But in the sponsorship game (or any other), you go where the money is.
HDNet has been around since 2001 and is making inroads in becoming a bigger player on the cable scene.
As part of the agreement, HDNet logos will be featured throughout the practice court at AAC, as well.
