Not sure of the extent of it at this point, but some East Coast contacts have heard that Mavericks' forward Tim Thomas has suffered a knee injury while playing in a pick-up game.
The Mavericks apparently are aware of the situation, but doctors not affiliated with the team have looked at Thomas and declared that the injury is at least a sprain and could involve some cartilage damage.
Normally, a sprain requires a few weeks to get over. Cartilage damage can be four to eight weeks.
We'll try to pin down some more info.

I hope that is not a guaranteed contract?
