Tim Thomas had a tear in his right knee cartilage patched up by Dr. T.O. Souryal today and the arthroscopic procedure shouldn't cause any long-term problems for the 6-10 forward.
No complications were found and typically players need between three and six weeks to recover from this sort of surgery.
That should put Thomas in line to be back on the court when the season opens Oct. 27, or shortly thereafter.
At that point, it'll be a matter of him getting in top-flight basketball shape after a month or so of rehabilitation.
