Pardon the headline that doesn't tell you anything about this blog post, but it conveys exactly what I feel about the silly (but comical) story of the NBA trying to force Caron Butler to quit chewing straws during the game.
Who cares? Other than Butler?
So he'll go back to chewing gum, which I'm sure he did at some point in his past before getting the straw addiction.
Let's move on to more important things, like whether the Mavericks can snag one of the big men coming available before the March 1 cutoff date. Players who are not on another team's roster by that date are playoff-eligible.
It won't be Drew Gooden. He's stuck in Clipper land for the rest of the way. Zydrunas Ilgauskas is out there now, but why would he go anywhere but back to his home and family in Cleveland?
Doesn't he have to figure his chances to win a ring are better with LeBron (and going against East competition) than it is in Dallas?
