Russell Westbrook didn't know about Kevin Durant's record for the Rookie-Sophomore game, but he came pretty close to getting it anyway.
Westbrook led the Sophomores with 40 points, finishing just six shy of the 46 Durant scored last year in this game. Westbrook, who was taken out with about seven minutes remaining, said he wanted to get back in to help the team come back. At the time they were only down by about eight points.
Said Durant, "I was worried he'd get my record, but I'm happy for him. Luckily they took him out so he wouldn't break it."
Ah, Sophomore-Rookie fun.
