Mavs inch a little closer

The Mavericks were down 10 with 1:50 left in the third quarter, but chopped it to four before Rudy Gay got loose for a layup at the buzzer.

Still, at 73-67, the Mavericks have this game in their sights.

They even figured out how to hold onto the ball, going the last 10 minutes of the third frame without a turnover.

Biggest problem is four fouls each for Brendan Haywood and Erick Dampier. Both have had solid moments, but the Mavericks' 3-point shooting abandoned them in the third quarter.
