Rick Carlisle summed it up best, really, when he said: "I thought we were playing hard all night. We just weren't playing particularly well.''

That's a great sign for the Mavericks and their fans. Playing hard at this time of the year has to be a given. And if you do that, sometimes you win even if you don't have your best stuff.

Terrific game for the Mavericks, even if it took overtime and probably left them gassed for tonight.
