According to NBA research, Rajon Rondo now has four playoff triple doubles, which is second most in Boston Celtics' history behind only Larry Bird.
Somehow, even as great as Rondo has been lately and particularly on Sunday with 29 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists, it's hard to think of him in any way as the second-best playoff Celtic of all time.
And I give the point guard credit. In his television interview after the game, he said the only reason he gets all those scoring and rebounding opportunities is because the opponent is always attentive to Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce.
Spoken like a point guard who knows how to keep teammates happy.
In addition, the Lakers are in a commanding 3-0 lead for the 21st time in franchise history. They have completed the sweep 12 times in those situations.
Six times they have closed it out in five and only twice have they needed six games to finish off the series.
Orlando already has had a 3-0 lead once this season and swept Charlotte.
The Magic is looking for its eighth consecutive win to open these playoffs. And virtually all of them have been by a country mile.
