Yes, we know this is a couple weeks late, but it's always noteworthy about how much the Mavericks' players made in the playoffs.
Because they had the second-best record in the conference and were whacked in the first round of the playoffs, they earned a total of $422,503 from the NBA's $12-million playoff pool. That's based on what the NBA releases to each team and the media.
That's $243,411 for having the second best record in the West and $179,092 for playing in the first round.
With 13 players on the roster at the end of the season, that comes out to about 32,500 per player.
But let us hope that they voted the athletic training staff headed by Casey Smith and equipment manager extraordinaire Al Whitley and the media relations staff at least a share or two to split among themselves.
They worked hard all year, too. And they make a lot less than the NBA minimum for players.
