Is there a difference between Cuban and Jay-Z?

Don’t know how many of you might have seen this little
nugget. It ran in the gossip section of the New York Daily News. So the NBA, as
one executive told me, doesn’t necessarily know if it’s the truth,
the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
 
But it’s interesting nonetheless that a small-piece
owner of the New Jersey Nets – in this case Jay-Z – can apparently
spend the evening partying with LeBron James a week before free agency and
somehow, it’s not considered tampering.

Remember, Mark Cuban was fined $100,000 for saying on a
reputable talk show that any team would like to have LeBron James, including
the Mavericks.
 
Now, we have a report out of a tabloid that says the Nets
had their global-icon/rapper/part-owner hanging with LeBron.
 
So let that be a lesson to all owners. If you get outed,
make sure it’s by a news outlet that has great entertainment value and
that the league doesn’t always believe all the time.
