Mavs' Smith will be a traveling man again

The Mavericks’ Casey Smith, who has been the club’s
athletic trainer since 2004, will be part of the USA Basketball men’s national
team medical staff, it was announced today.
 
Smith will join Joe Sharpe, Oklahoma City’s trainer,
and Steve Traina, the Denver Nuggets’ team physician, on the staff. Smith
has been part of virtually all of the U.S. men’s teams in recent years
and also has been responsible for the U.S. national boxing team one year.
 
On the list of places Smith will visit: Las Vegas, New York,
Madrid and Athens for exhibition games and training camps, as well as Turkey
for the World Championships Aug. 28 to Sept. 12.
