The on-again, off-again recruitment of shooting guard Rashad
McCants is definitely on again.
The former NBA first-round draftee arrived in town late
Sunday night and is expected to be in uniform for the Frisco-based Texas Legends
in their home opener Tuesday night at Dr Pepper Arena.
“We couldn’t be more excited about Rashad
joining the Legends,’’ co-owner Donnie Nelson said. “Although
he passed up more money overseas, I think he made a wise decision. The D-League
is simply the quickest, most direct path to the NBA and that’s where he
belongs.’’
Nelson credited Legends general manager Spud Webb with doing
the heavy lifting to getting McCants into a Legends uniform. The Legends will
face the Austin Toros in their home opener after gong 2-1 on a season-opening
road trip.
