Tough start for Matrix

Shawn Marion slipped into the lineup at his usual time, with
about four minutes left in the first quarter. He was back on the bench with
1:07 left in the quarter after collecting three quick fouls.
 
It was typical of the way the first quarter went as the
Mavericks trailed 27-24 after leading by as many as six.
 
The biggest problem was seven turnovers.
 
The Mavericks threw it away too often to maintain any flow
offensively.
