DALLAS _ Mark Cuban was in the Cayman Islands vacationing with his family Monday when Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki sprained his right knee against Oklahoma City.
Cuban was watching the game on TV. So what was his initial reaction when he saw his top basketball investment go tumbling to the floor?
"There goes Dirk tripping over himself again,'' Cuban said. "But I knew he had an irration behind his knee, so I wasn’t worried about it.
"I knew he had a problem earlier with it, so it wasn't such a big shock.''
Cuban agree with the Mavs medical staff to rest Nowitzki until he's fully healthy. It mattered not to Cuban that his All-Star forward had to miss Thursday's pivotal game against the San Antonio Spurs.
Cuban said: "It's just one more game that’s not going to make a darn bit of difference in the big picture.''
