Dirk gives no real hints about a return

The TNT crew got Dirk Nowitzki to jump on with them during
Thursday night’s game and the injured Maverick didn’t have a lot of
light to shed on his sprained right knee.
 
“I actually feel pretty good,’’
he said. “What happened was I think the knee was giving me a little
trouble two weeks before and I just came down wrong. It’s just a sprain
so that was the great news and now I’m taking it day by day. It’s
already better than it was two days ago, but it wasn’t good enough to
play today (Thursday against the Spurs). I would have loved to have been out
here in front of this crowd, but unfortunately it didn’t work. Maybe this
weekend, maybe early next week, that’s what I’m looking at.”
 
The Mavericks play at Milwaukee on
New Year’s Day, then at Cleveland on Sunday.
