DALLAS _ Jason Terry broke in a new pair of sneakers Thursday night against the San Antonio Spurs.
Reebok made Terry his very own brand of sneakers called the Shark, which is adorn in the Mavericks' blue, black and white colors. On the side of the shoe is a picture of a white shark.
"That’s the great white shark, too,'' Tery said. "That's not a feeder shark.
"The JET is definitely on the runway for this one. Deep waters baby, deep waters.''
When told that sharks really do bite, Terry said: "That's what's going to happen when you come guard me out there at the 3-point line.''
Terry has the letters CTC emblazoned on the shoes.
"That's my motta for this year,'' Terry said "Cut The Check.''
Terry also has his No. 21 stitched on one side of the shoe, in addition to the No. 42. The latter was the number of the late Lorenzen Wright, who played with Terry from 1999-2001 when the two were with the Atlanta Hawks.
Wright's murdered body was discovered in a wooded area outside Memphis this past July, and the case is still being investigated as a homicide.
"Basically I just like the overall design and the comfort of the shoe, and then I have a memorial to Lorenzen Wright, who was one of my best friends and who was murdered this year,'' Terry said. "That's probably the best part about this shoe, because we played together in Atlanta.''
