DALLAS _ The Dallas Mavericks will wait until after tonight's home game against Atlanta before making a decision on forward Sasha Pavlovic.
Pavlovic's second 10-day contract expires after tonight's game, and by NBA rule the Mavs have to either sign him for the rest of the season or waive him. After shoot around this morning, Mavs coach Rick Carlisle said he couldn't comment on Pavlovic's fate and that the decision is in the hands of owner Mark Cuban and general manager Donnie Nelson.
"That's a Mark-Donnie thing,'' Carlisle said, "so I can't give you a comment.''
Nelson wouldn't offer much insight, either. Nelson said: "That's tonight's decision, postgame.''
Cuban said nothing that Pavlovic does against the Hawks will sway his decision one way or the other.
"We just have to explore everything and make a decision,'' Cuban said.
In nine games with the Mavs, Pavlovic has averaged 4.1 points and 1.3 rebounds, and has converted 13 of 30 shots, including 7 of 16 baskets from 3-point land.
