Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle downplayed any conspiracy theories about why the NBA has Danny Crawford officiating tonight’s Mavs-Blazers Game 2.
The Mavs are 2-16 in playoff games Crawford has worked.
“I don’t consider that a factor,” Carlisle said. “That’d be pretty defeatist if we did. He’s a great official and history shows that.”
Crawford will be joined by Pat Fraher and Ed Malloy.
Portland coach Nate McMillan didn't think officiating would be a factor, either. But McMillan was fined $35,000 for publicly commenting on the Game 1 officiating, citing the lopsided free throw attempts that favored Dallas.
"It's time to move on," McMillan said.
