Chris Johnson is an energetic rookie big man from LSU, but
he didn’t do anything to help his team in a second-quarter appearance.
Johnson fouled Dirk Nowitzki on a drive to the basket for a
three-point play, then on the next rebound at the Blazers’ offensive end,
he hooked his hand around Nowitzki’s face and hurled him to the ground.
Johnson was given a flagrant foul for the play and the
Mavericks were able to cut into a Blazers lead that had been as big as 12
points, but was down to 33-27 after the flagrant free throws by Nowitzki.
