If you are the Memphis Grizzlies, how are you feeling right
about now?
Crummy. That’s the correct response.
The Grizzlies had a 3-1 lead on the Spurs before Thursday
night, when Manu Ginobili and a crazy Gary Neal 3-pointer at the end of
regulation put the Spurs into overtime and supplied them with a resuscitating
Game 5 win.
Now it’s 3-2 and if the Spurs can scrounge a win at
Memphis on Friday, who among us doesn’t think they would close things out
in a Game 7 in San Antonio?
The Spurs still have to figure out how to win at Memphis,
which is not an easy task. But what they did Thursday night is plant a big seed
of doubt in the Grizzlies.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder can hang around for a
the better part of a week and get ready for either the Spurs or the Grizzlies.
Not sure how it looks from your vantage point. But from
here, Scotty Brooks’ Thunder look like the team to beat in the West right
now.
And we all thought they were a year or two away, right?
