MIAMI _ Brendan Haywood has been activated for Game 6 tonight.
The Dallas Mavericks’ backup center went out and practiced on the AmericanAirlines Arena court a few minutes ago and declared himself strong enough to give it a go tonight when the Mavs try to close out the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat.
Haywood strained his hip flexor in the fourth quarter of Game 2, and was sidelined for Games 3 and 5 while playing just three minutes in Game 4.
Haywood, who is not completely healthy, is the primary backup to Tyson Chandler.
The Mavs lead the Heat, 3-2, in this best-of-seven series, and can capture their first NBA title with a win tonight.
