OKLAHOMA CITY -- Rick Carlisle was not is the mood to be making excuses for his team’s 0-2 start.
When the Dallas Mavericks coach was asked before tonight’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder about his team being old, he interrupted the question and said:
“We’re not going for built-in excuses. The older team, I don’t want to hear about that.’’
When a follow-up question was posed to Carlisle about his team’s lack of practice time, Carlisle interrupted again and said:
“That’s another built-in excuse. We’re mot going there. We’re not going there.
“Nobody’s getting any sympathy cards saying, ‘Hey, that’s too bad what’s happening to you guys.’ Old team, young team. You’ve got to play.’’
