OKLAHOMA CITY -- Even in defeat, the Dallas Mavericks know they showed tonight that they do indeed have a pulse.
After 11-point and 22-point losses to open the season against Miami and Denver, respectively, the Mavs played the Oklahoma City Thunder down to the very last second tonight. And it was Kevin Durant's amazing three-point shot at the buzzer that beat the Mavs, 104-102, to send the Mavs home with an 0-3 record.
"This was an encouraging game for us,'' said guard Jason Terry, who scored 15 points and handed out nine assists. "Yes, we wanted to win, but tomorrow is a big game.''
The Mavs host Toronto at 7:30 Friday night. That's if they can filnd a way to get tonight's devastating loss out of their system.
"We've lost two in a row at home,'' Terry said. "It's time to get (a win).''
