DALLAS _ The world champion Dallas Mavericks trimmed their roster to 14 this morning by waiving guards Jerome Randle and Drew Neitzel.
It was generally assumed that Randle would win the Mavs' 15th roster spot after he averaged 11 points in just 17.5 minutes per game in the two preseason games against Oklahoma. But the Mavs decided to go in another direction.
Neitzel averaged 3.5 points in 9.0 minutes game.
The two moves mean the Mavs can still add another player to their roster if they want to. Dallas opens the season at home Sunday against trhe Miami Heat.

"But the Mavs decided to go in another direction."
This is reporting? No explanation why? No analysis of each player's strengths/weaknesses? Just a statement of the obvious.
Startlegram, things sure have sunk low in your sports section.
