DALLAS _ Dirk Nowitzki doesn’t want anyone reading anything into that sluggish 2-of-10 shooting performance he had Tuesday night against Oklahoma City.
It was Nowitzki’s first game in a Dallas Mavericks uniform since Game 6 of the NBA Finals against Miami last June. Nowitzki only played 23 minutes and scored just six points and said he was a bit winded.
“I’m fine, nothing hurts,’’ Nowitzki said. “The wind will come back, but it’s definitely better than what it was two weeks ago when we started camp.
“I actually wasn’t joking about the amnesty thing two weeks ago. That’s how bad I looked. It’s been some hard work the last two weeks, but I’m still obviously not 100 percent.’’
Nowitzki sat out the Mavs' preseason opener this past Sunday against Oklahoma City, and also was 0-of-3 from three-point range in Tuesday's game.
