DALLAS _ Delonte West wasn't here last year when the Dallas Mavericks won the NBA title and the trophy that comes with it.
But the new Mavs' guard knows that it's high-time for the Mavs to stop living in last year's glory and start concentrating on what's happening this season.
"The victory lap is over, and I think that's a little bit what we were doing,'' West said this afternoon. "And I'm not going to still make any excuses.
"I wasn't here last year -- it's a total different team. Like I said, the fans and the team and everybody, the trophy is up on the shelf now and the banner is raised, and now it's time to get after it.''
The Mavs are 0-2 after getting blown out at home against Miami and Denver. They play at Okllahoma City on Thursday and at home against Toronto on Friday as they try and turn things around.
"It's not going to be easy,'' West said. "That banner is up there and every team we face knows that and they're trying to prove something.''
