DENVER -- With a bit of a shrug this morning, Denver Nuggets forward Corey Brewertipped his hat to the Broncos for winning the Peyton Manning Sweepstakes.
Early this morning, this city started buzzing when it was announced that Manning had given his agent the go-ahead to start negotiating a contract with the Broncos. But a Manning acquistion means the Broncos will likely part ways with Tim Tebow, who led them to the second round of this past season's playoffs.
That leaves Brewer on the fence, since, like Tebow, he is a former member of the Florida Gators. But Brewer also sees the Broncos possibly winning Super Bowls with Manning at quarterback.
"I feel bad for Tebow just because of the aspect of what he did last year and how he was chosen as a quatertback,'' Brewer said after this morning's shootaround at the Pepsi Center. "And being a Gator fan, you always back him.
"But Peyton Manning is one of the best men to ever do it, so you can’t argue with bringing him in. He’s only going to get better.''
