DENVER – Peyton Manning’s announcement Monday that he wants to come play quarterback for the Denver Broncos dominated the news and sports landscape in these parts of the country.
And rightfully so.
Some folks even showed up at Monday’s game at the Pepsi Center between the Dallas Mavericks and the Denver Nuggets wearing a Peyton Manning jersey.
“It’s a pretty big deal,’’ forward Lamar Odom said. “I’m pretty sure the people of Denver are excited and want to know what’s going to happen with Tim Tebow, who had a great year last year.
“But that’s part of the business. On top one day and trying to find out how to get back to the top the next day.’’
Since Tebow came from nowhere and got the Broncos to the second round of the playoffs this past season, forward Dirk Nowitzki joked about why Denver thought it was necessary to obtain Manning.
“I thought they had Tebow here, so I was a little confused,’’ Nowitzki said. “Peyton, we’ll see what he’s got left in the tank.
“When he’s healthy, obviously he’s one of the best quarterback in the business. It’ll be a great fit for them.’’

I know this is a business but what a dirty business when your boss(Horseface Elway) promises you the starting position then recruits one of the best quarterbacks of all time. I have nothing but praise for all the Mannings but I think Tim Tebow was done a terrible disservice with this hiring. My hope is that wherever he goes he will wind up going even further than he did last year with the Broncos.
