DALLAS – Lamar Odom kind of shrugged Saturday when asked if he was surprised the Los Angeles Lakers traded popular guard Derek Fisher to the Houston Rockets this past Thursday.
“I’m a little bit surprised, but you never know,’’ Odom said. “It’s a business. You never know.’’
Odom and Fisher were teammates when the Lakers won NBA titles in 2009 and ’10. But during the offseason -- after an Odom trade to the New Orleans Hornets was nixed by NBA commissioner David Stern – the Lakers subsequently traded Odom to the Mavs.
Now, Fisher is gone from the Lakers’ safety net.
“That’s the way it goes,’’ Odom said.” Business is business, as injuries are. You still have a job to do.’’
