DALLAS _ In the wake of his banishment from the Dallas Mavericks' active roster for the rest of this season, Lamar Odom has been removed from being a candidate to represent the United States in this summer's Olympic Games.
According to FOX Sports Florida, Odom is no longer on the list of 20 candidates who were originally announced last January to play for Team USA when the Olympics are played this summer in London. That list will eventually be reduced to a 12-man roster.
The Mavs and Odom reached a mutual agreement to part ways this past summer after the team grew tired of his poor performances, lack of emotions, and inability to get to some team functions on time.
Odom averaged career lows of 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds this season, and also shot a career-low 35.2 percent from the field.

Good. Someone as unprofessional as Odom should not be allowed to represent the U.S. in Olympic play. The only reason he didn't fit with the Mavs is that he didn't want to be there. Too bad the team had to suffer for his lack of consideration for others as well as himself!
