DALLAS -- Rick Carlisle isn't going anywhere after all.
According to an NBA source, Carlisle received a four-year contract extension earlier today to continue coaching the Dallas Mavericks.
In his four years coaching the Mavs, Carlisle produced a 198-114 regular season record and 23-18 playoff record. He also guided the Mavs to their lone NBA title last year when Dallas was 57-25 in the regular season, then defeated the Miami Heat in six games in the Finals.
Slated to become a free agent on July 1 before today's developments, Carlisle earned $4.5 million this season.
