DALLAS -- Rick Carlisle likes to have players who can play more than one position.
And with the cast of the new eight players the Dallas Mavericks' coach has assembled, he must feel like he's in basketball heaven.
Among the newcomers at Carlisle's disposal, Elton Brand can play center and power forward, OJ Mayo can swing between point guard and shooting guard, Bernard James is a center and a power forward, Dahntay Jones is comfortable playing shooting guard or small forward, Chris Kaman can man the center or power forward positions, and Jared Cunningham can hold his own at point guard or shooting guard.
"It’s exciting to have a lot of new guys in really multiple positions,'' Carlisle said. "It’s unusual to get this kind of turnover and have eight new guys and you know at least three or four of them are going to be in your rotation, and two or three are probably going to be starting.''
