DALLAS -– By the time the upcoming season is history, the Dallas Mavericks will have played the Houston Rockets four times.
Unless they meet at some point in the playoffs.
So, when the Mavs play a preseason game against Houston at 7:30 tonight at American Airlines Center, it’ll give them some indication on what to expect from their I-45 rivals this year.
“They’re an energetic hard-playing team -- they force you to play,’’ coach Rick Carlisle said of the Rockets. “More than anything we’ve got to be ready to jump into the game with high energy and high efficiency.
“That’s the biggest thing I’m looking at at this point. We’ll adjust the way we need to adjust, but I think every team in the league is going to be a hard-playing team.’’
